meet the band

Laura Blewitt Delarosa

lead vocals and rhythm guitar

Laura is a lifelong writer who began singing in church choirs and playing piano as a child. She gave up performing music in college to pursue a career in journalism.

After seeing an Iggy Pop show in 2017, everything changed. She made learning guitar and writing music her top priority, and left her demanding journalism career six months later. It took her years to find the courage to share her music, but eventually played her first open mic in May 2021 and released the first Saturnia Pavonia single in February 2022. She released the project’s debut EP in December 2022, and started recruiting permanent band members in 2023.

Aja Pollock

bass, vocals

Aja began playing piano as a child and is heavily influenced by her love for Brit pop and indie rock. She is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and actress. Aja and Laura met in March 2023 through the Austin Femme Rock community and played together in the organization’s post punk band. She joined Saturnia Pavonia in May 2023 after learning a full set list of new songs in less than a week. She adds dynamic and dark basslines that bring balance and grittiness to the band’s sound.

Josh Delarosa

lead guitar, vocals

Josh is a Latino songwriter who first ventured into music by learning how to play drums from his father. In his teenage years, he taught himself how to play guitar and bass. He has played all three instruments in numerous bands throughout the past two decades, and his songs have been featured on local and national radio. Josh is the co-founder of Of The Roses, which played a show with Saturnia Pavonia in May 2023. After meeting Laura and Aja, he returned to the band’s next show and offered to bring his expertise in guitar to the group. His riffs, tremolo, and flirtations with distortion elevate Saturnia Pavonia’s music to a higher form of alternative rock.

Andi LaGrone

drums

A California native/naturalized Texan, Andi grew up in a small, conservative suburb of Dallas but got to Austin as soon as she could. Involved in piano, church choir, and school band from a young age, she was raised on the power of music. While spending her teen years in marching band and drum line, she started a garage band and that was the beginning of her love affair with writing and playing original alt-rock music. After living and gigging in Dallas, Austin, then NYC, Andi returned home to Austin and has been a regular part of its post-punk music scene for several years. Now, joining Wild Heaven, she weaves heavy, yet catchy, beats to the tapestry of the music, creating punchy and dynamic rhythms.
