Wild Heaven: what you’re looking for
Wild Heaven blends despair with satire, hopefulness with nihilism, and sugary vocals with painful lyrics in energetic alternative rock tunes with a taste of post punk. Laura Blewitt (vocals, rhythm guitar) uses her voice to waver between sweet and screamy melodies, Aja Pollock (bass, vocals) adds dynamic and dark bass lines that bring balance and grittiness. Josh Delarosa (lead guitar) brings riffs, tremolo, and flirtations with distortion for an elevated form of alternative rock, and Andi LaGrone (drums) weaves heavy, yet catchy, beats to the tapestry of the music, creating punchy and dynamic rhythms.

Wild Heaven, described as “lawless, 90s-evocative alternative rock,” by KUTX’s Jack Anderson, reflects a “recent riot grrl” sound. The new album inspects the contradictions and acceptance of the roles played by American and Texan feminists in the 2020s.
From covering the shame of the arrival of the post-Roe era, to battling the fear of losing an unborn child, “I Need You” is a dynamic and emotional ride that explores lost love, female resentment, and the healing journey and acceptance of new love and motherhood.
The album was recorded by Matt Parmenter of Ice Cream Factory Studios, recent winner of The Austin Chronicle Music Awards for the “Best Recording Studio” category. It was mastered by Eric Conn of Independent Mastering in Nashville, Tennessee. It will be available on vinyl in August 2024 from Gotta Groove Records in Cleveland, Ohio.
